Do Be doing Animation in Primary Schools

This year we've had the great privilege of working with some amazing pupils at St John Ogilvie Primary SChool in Livingston, Scotland.

It's been a real mixed bag of activity for us what with MP4 training, Project work and Animation and here we'd like to showcase the results of our work.

The idea behind the following animations came from a Global Warming project the kids had started. The animation was made entirely by the pupils from filming, artwork, scripting, songwriting, singing and credits… Continue

The James Young High School

Delivered via our blog on 27/08/08

Hi, again
It's Ruth from James Young, yes the one who's scared of the dark.

Just wanted to drop by and check the blog and say how interesting I thought todays workshop was, I would even go as far to say this was the best workshop out of the lot at our school, definately the most useful. So I just wanted to let you know the time you spent with us was very much appreciated with many of us and I will definately recommend you to others.
Cheers once again.

Linlithgow Academy

Linlithgow Academy has enjoyed a very successful partnership with Do Be Ltd. do Be makes a significant contribution to our study support to our S4 Study Support programme and was involved in our S5 Induction week with their input being considered one of the highlights of the week. Pupils were highly motivated and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.

Do Be has a commitment to ongoing support to schools and this is very evident in the Staff Training that was offered during the S5 Induction week which again was enthusiastically recieved by staff.

Linlithgow Academy intends to continue our partnership with Do Be and have currently asked Do Be to provide Leadership Training for our new S6 pupils as part of their Personal Development course.

The Recruit

I am writing to personally thank you for your support with The Recruit programme. Quite simply, the programme would not have been the resounding success it has become were it not for the invaluable support from the business partners. The input from Do Be as a Course Provider added to the many learning outcomes for The Recruits.

Feedback from all of The Recruits has been extremely positive, all of them commenting on the added value of Do Be's business involvement.

There is no doubt the programme has been a great success and I would like to invite you to take part in a repeat of this success in 2008. You have played a major part in building this success and for that I am truly grateful.

Thank You!

Buckie High School

I write to thank you very much for your involvement in our recent Induction Programme. The students have completed evaluations and, overall, the two days were successful and well received. Comments were sought and below are some attributed to your activity -
Funny and enjoyable!
Was brilliant!
Fun, interesting and full of information.
Lots of advice.

Once again, I would like to thank you personally, and on behalf of the school, for taking the time to participate. It was very much appreciated.

Bo'ness Academy

Dear Kirsten,

Just a quick letter to thank you and Stephen for the training provided at Bo'ness Academy. The 50 S3 pupils and staff who participated in the training day were unanimous in their praise. A couple of comments from pupils were "I didn't think learning could be so much fun" and "Even if I forget some of the information that has been given to me, I can listen to it again on my MP4 player".

Since returning to the classroom the MP4 players have already been put to good use with one member of the Modern Languages Department stating "This is the first time in my teaching career that I've had pupils waiting for me in the corridor so they can download their homework from their MP4 players to my PC".

So far the experiece of staff and pupils has been extremely positive and we look forward to continuing to work with the Do Be Team.

Yours sincerely,

S Dougan
Depute Headteacher

Elgin High School

Dear Stephen

S5/6 Induction

Can I take this opportunity to say thank you very much for the presentation you gave to our S5/6 students?
They thoroughly enjoyed the session, and I have not read such positive evaluations in a long time. What they achieved from the session has been immense, and they are genuinely motivated to tackle the challenges of S5 and 6.

Thank you once again, and I have no doubt I will be in touch in the future.

Regards,

Karen J Grant
Acting Depute Head Teacher

Dear Stephen,

School Captain Leadership Training Event

I just wanted to say many thanks for all your hard work on Tuesday. The reaction of the young people on the day was exactly what we were looking for and as expected, the summary evaluation indicates your session was a great success with them all.

I am quite sure they will make great use of the many lessons they learned through the session and that they will make great use of the MP3/4 players too.

Thanks again Stephen, it was a great job well done and I really appreciate all your hard work.

Kindest regards,

Lynne Lauder
EiE Coordinator
